About the treatment

The targeted injection with hyaluronic acid (dermal filler) takes place during the wrinkle treatment in the middle to deep skin layers. Here the substance can achieve a longer lasting effect (depending on the type and position of the wrinkles). Dermal fillers can bind a high amount of moisture. This raises the skin slightly, so that wrinkles can be reduced or even disappear completely. As a result your skin gets a younger and fresher appearance.

Which wrinkles can be treated with hyaluronic acid?

The classic area of application for wrinkle treatment with hyaluronic acid is the lower third of the face, including the following areas: nasolabial fold (wrinkle between nose and corner of mouth), mentolabial wrinkle (wrinkle between corner of mouth and chin), upper lip wrinkles (so-called smoker’s wrinkles) and the chin area. Hyaluronic acid can also be used in the upper facial area such as eye wrinkles (so-called crow’s feet), forehead lines and cheeks. Dermal fillers are an effective solution to increase the volume and shape of lips.

How is hyaluronic acid used?

Hyaluronic acid is available in different concentrations and is used and combined by our doctors depending on the position and depth of the wrinkles. Very thin needles are used for injections, so that the treatment is painless. If desired, the corresponding areas can be locally anaesthetised beforehand.

What is to be considered after a hyaluronic acid treatment?

Despite medically perfect injections with hyaluronic acid, redness, swelling or very small bruises can occur. However, the side effects subside after 2-3 days at the latest and are easy handle. To protect the skin you should refrain from sauna and sun or solarium for a few days. The treatment effect of hyaluronic acid occurs immediately and usually lasts up to six months. The substance is then completely biodegraded of the body. Hyaluronic acid has been used for many years and no long-term side effects were observed.
