The natural aging process leads to sagging of the skin on the face and neck as well as wrinkles, which may alter one’s appearance. Cheeks hang, contours disappear and deep nasolabial wrinkles appear causing the proportions of the face to change. When it bothers you that your reflection in the mirror says that you look considerably older, the time has come to think about a face lift.
If treatment with fillers or muscle relaxants is no longer sufficient, a face lift can provide permanent results.
A face lift operation will give the tissues and the skin a new resilience, and will make it possible to give your face the look of youth in a long-lasting way. You will look younger and more well rested and in many cases, a well done facelift has a positive effect on self-esteem.
face lift - METHODS, RESULTS & COSTS
What happens during facelift surgery?
A facelift involves tightening the skin, as well as the musculature, on the face and neck. The aim is to make the face appear naturally younger. A facelift can also be combined with other procedures such as eyelid lifts, hyaluronic acid, and muscle relaxants.
The choice of the operation procedure varies from patient to patient and depends on their individual anatomy and the extent of aging traits.
We always recommend the least invasive procedure for face lifts as they involve inconspicuous scars. If necessary, the forehead, mid-face area, upper and lower lids, neck and cheek area will also be treated.
Where does the facelift take place?
The facelift is done under general anaesthesia on an in-patient basis at our modern clinic by our specialised plastic and cosmetic surgeons. You will be cared for by doctors and nurses round the clock in a comfortable room.
There will be mild swelling for the first few days. After two to three weeks of normal healing, regular activities can be resumed and after three to four months you should be fully recuperated. Only after six months are sunbathing, solariums and saunas allowed.
